What a whirlwind trip! We traveled a lot of territory, saw lots of sights and had brilliant craic. Best of all PSU won one heck of a game.
Today we had to go back to Dublin so we can get our flight home tomorrow. Ugh The upside is we visited Glasnevin Cemetery. Glasnevin is my new favorite place to go when in Dublin. Of course no visit to Glasnevin would be complete without a stop at Gravediggers Pub. Great food and atmosphere. Our last visit stop was at the Guinness Storehouse.
Spent today traveling around beautiful Connemara. Stopped at Connemara Marble Factory one of my favorite places to shop. Next we went to Kylemore Abbey. Such a beautiful, peaceful place. Tonight we enjoyed an evening of excellent entertainment at Trad on the Prom. Had a lovely visit and talk at the Drumcliffe Cemetery and visited the grave site of W. B. Yeats. Love the view of Benbulben Mountain here. Next we went to Galway where we had a cruise on Lough Corrib. Checked into our Salthill Hotel were we are spending the next two nights.
Today we visited the amazing Giant's Causeway, Old Bushmills, and Dunluce. Going to get a complex. Had to evacuate Bushmills for fire alarm. Yesterday had an alarm at Titanic Belfast. Nice night of music at hotel after dinner. Today we went to Belfast. Really enjoyed our visit to Titanic Belfast. Saw the Belfast Studios where parts of GOT is filmed. Had the real Belfast Experience during our city tour. Very heavy police presence when Loyalist were protesting a republican parade. Unfortunately I still can not transfer photos from my camera. Then checked into Derry's Tower Hotel where we are spending the next two nights. Heard traditional music at Pedar O'Donnells before our hotel dinner. Had a great day. Thanks to Gerry Cooley for the tour of Dublin and walking us to our gate at Croke Park. What an exciting game! Real heart stopper. Took some great photos but due to a poor wifi connection I am unable to transfer from my. Hopefully I get to post at a later time. Great Job Lions!! Today after landing in Shannon airport and meeting the rest of the gang we paid a visit to the Cliffs of Mohrer where you could not see thing. Then to Dublin city to pick up our game tickets. And early night at Ballsbridge Hotel to rest up for game day tomorrow. Coach driver is a hoot. 'What is an ATM on a Friday night? A drink link' So sorry to see our adventure come to an end. Could not have asked for a better group of travel mates or a better driver /guide, Aidan. Was a fantastic holiday! |
